Transformed from its previous incarnation as a commercial bog where peat was harvested to heat homes around the country, today Lough Boora Discovery Park is home to countless species of birds and wildlife, fish-filled lakes and a permanent exhibition of huge outdoor sculptures.

Get on your bike and discover 22kms of scenic trails, including a 9km car-free cycle path for younger cyclists to safely enjoy. It’s the perfect way to experience the unique landscape of Lough Boora along with it’s massive outdoor sculptures, lakes and countless species of birds. Just hire your bike at the Visitor’s Centre, Monday thru Sunday and get ready to pedal off into the great Lough Boora wilderness.

  • Three off-road Cycle Routes ranging in distance from 6km to 15.8km
  • Five off-road Walking Routes ranging in distance from 3.3km to 15,8km
  • A dramatic Outdoor Sculpture Park displaying 24 large scale sculptures
  • Four Angling lakes suitable for all abilities.
