Create your own adventure

Offaly at the heart of Ireland welcomes the visitor to enormous tracts of wilderness, expanses of bogland, a vast mountain park, esker hills and deep wooded valleys with their streams and rivers. This beautiful landscape is the perfect setting for looped walks ranging from easy strolls to more strenuous hikes.   For the energetic hiker, the circular route of the Slieve Bloom Way, linking counties Offaly and Laois, takes you through coniferous and broadleaf woods. The famed Slieve Bloom village trinity of Kinnitty, Cadamstown and Clonaslee are just some of the wonderful walking locations. The Offaly Way, a linear route linking the Slieve Bloom Way (at Cadamstown) to Lemanaghan Monastic Site, en route crosses the Grand Canal Way. Lough Boora Discovery Park is a beautiful new landscape hidden at the centre of Ireland – a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.
