Canal Bank Writers Festival Tullamore

Friday 18th September - Sunday 20th September 2020

Tullamore’s first ever writers festival.

The theme of the festival will be Wellbeing and positive mental health will be promoted in some workshops and events with an end of week raffle in aid of a local mental health charity TBA.

Taking place in a number of venues around the town of Tullamore such as Joe Lee’s and other pubs as well as the County Library; there will be workshops, competitions, open mic, spoken word poetry, meet and greet with well-known authors, original drama productions, song writing events and much more. There is something for all ages and tastes!

Some of the authors taking part are bestselling writers Carmel Harrington and Patricia Gibney as well as Dave Rudden, Dolores Keaveney, and Geraldine O’Niell with more to follow.

There will be poetry and short story competitions and prizes up for grabs in the open mic event so all are welcome to throw their hat into the ring.

All writers groups and book clubs around the midlands are invited to take some part and are actively looking for other organisations to host events to enhance and coincide with the festival so please make contact if you wish to get involved.
