Giltraps dates back to the 17th century when it operated as an Inn and a Hotel and its central location in the heart of Ireland was the perfect stop off point for merchants travelling through the Irish countryside. It is now a family run business managed by the local Clendennen family. Giltraps is a place to visit with its quaint snugs, memorabilia of a bygone age, stove fire and its legendary music sessions. Giltraps is adjacent to the two local churches and is just minutes away from the historic Kinnitty Castle. If you are attending a wedding ceremony in the village, Giltraps is the perfect pit stop for a couple of drinks before a memorable night at the Great Hall of The O’Carroll's. Indeed, there have been many occasions when the bride and groom have joined the wedding party for a quick drink, whilst also taking advantage of the pub for a photo opportunity.
