Trace your roots

roots262x262Are your ancestors from Offaly?

If you find yourself in Tullamore, don’t miss the opportunity to drop into the Offaly History Centre on Bury Quay. Dedicated to preserving and understanding the history of the county’s families, workplaces and communities, the society has amassed a treasure-trove of historical materials including family photographs, maps, old newspapers and manuscripts.   If you’ve an inkling that your ancestors came from King’s County (the old name for Offaly) or Queen’s County (the old name for Laois) then talk to the helpful staff at the Irish Midlands Ancestry (housed in the same building). Who knows what you might find out!
