Across Offaly you have a  selection of five great golf courses that make use of natural, undulating terrain from eskers, hollows and hillocks to parkland locations that will dictate your play. Our golf courses are gorgeously challenging and every hole deserves to be played at least twice. Offaly is also home to tour professional Shane Lowry who was born in ClaraCounty Offaly and learned his early golf at Esker Hills Golf Club. In 2009 Shane made history being the first Amateur golfer to ever win an Irish Open. Shane has proudly represented Esker Hills in tournaments throughout the world including the Majors; the British Open, the Masters, the US Open and the US PGA. In 2012 Shane won the Portugal Masters, in 2015 he won the World Golf Championship - Bridgestone Invitational, in 2019 he won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the Open Championship at Royal Portrush. Shane is currently ranked inside the world top 20 golfers.
