Drawing Workshop
Saturday 19th October, 11am – 2pm
Carmel Bergin will lead a drawing workshop open to beginners and established practitioners. Join her in an experimental drawing workshop, exploring the everyday through unconventional materials, media and making. If you have anything interesting you’d like to draw (an everyday object or photograph) or any unusual material (natural or manmade) you would like to draw with, do bring them along, this is optional as plenty of materials, media and source material will be provided to explore drawing beyond pencil or pen!
Carmel specialises in drawing, for her it is a method of journaling and observing the real world and composing and constructing the imaginary. Drawing informs the rest of Carmel’s interdisciplinary practice. Her work is inspired by everyday life, folklore, poetry and humour.
Carmel Bergin is a visual artist and educator from Co.Offaly. She studied Printmaking and Contemporary Practice in Limerick School of Art and Design and completed a PME (Art and Design) at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
