ABOUT GAZ’S COMIC CAVE
A dream come true…
Gareth Peter Pahliney, “Gaz”, originally from South Africa and now a proud Co. Offaly resident (Ireland), was over the moon when Guinness World Records confirmed that he had “smashed” the World Record for the Largest Collection of Deadpool Memorabilia, in February 2023.
Gareth started collecting comics when he was 5 years old, as his dad would take him to the comic store here and there, and he was able to pick one comic at a time. For the past 16 years, Gareth has focused on growing his Deadpool Collection, although he does still keep an eye out for other epic superhero/anti-hero merch; i.e. Gareth is also a big fan of Lobo, the DC equivalent of Deadpool.
Gareth has a number of key items in his Deadpool collection which he is particularly passionate about. These include the Deadpool Bust which was used to sculpt Ryan Reynold’s mask for the Deadpool Movie (signed by comic book writer and producer Stan Lee and Ryan Reynolds), a poster which was signed by the whole Deadpool Cast, a statue of Deadpool with a rubber chicken (a sentimental item which his aunt brought for him from Canada), and his relatively new Venompool PCS 3:1 statue which weighs around 140kg.
As part of the exclusive #DeadpoolCave Pop-Up, Gareth looks forward to sharing his collection for others to also experience. Many phenomenal artists contributed to this collection and this Pop-Up is a celebration of their hard work and Gareth’s passion for the Merc with a Mouth.
