Cantorion Llyn – Welsh choir

Discover the power and magnificence of a Welsh Choir in the comfortable setting of Birr Theatre & Arts Centre.

Cantorion Llŷn (Llŷn Singers) hails from the Northwest Peninsular of Wales – where 75% of the people speak Welsh as their first language. All 35 members of the choir are Welsh speakers and live their lives from day to day through their native language.
The choir was established in 2022 with the aim of performing at the National Eisteddfod of Wales when the festival visited Llŷn 12 months later. The National Eisteddfod is Europe’s largest competitive music, and poetry festival, celebrating Welsh language and culture during the first week of August every year. John Glyn Jones was appointed as conductor in 2022.
