Croghan Hill
What it’s all about
About
Croghan Hill is the remains of an extinct volcano rising from the Bog of Allen, offering extensive views across the midlands. Though only 232 m high, the hill commands sweeping panoramas of surrounding counties and landscapes. The summit mound is believed to be a Bronze Age burial site. The area also has strong links with Saint Brigid of Kildare, who is traditionally said to have been born nearby.
