About
Daingean is a historic small town in east County Offaly, rich in heritage and surrounded by canal and bogland landscapes. Formerly known as Philipstown, the town developed as an important administrative and market centre and retains many historic connections to Offaly’s social and political history. Today Daingean offers visitors a peaceful rural setting with access to local walking and cycling amenities, including the Grand Canal corridor and the nearby Mount Lucas Wind Farm trails.
