Killaun Bog is a unique raised bog and nature reserve located 5km east Birr. Rich in biodiversity, wildlife, natural beauty, and archaeology, this peaceful landscape offers visitors the opportunity to explore one of Offaly’s most important peatland habitats while learning about its ecological, archaeological and cultural importance. Covering several hundred hectares, Killaun Bog is one of the most significant peatland landscapes in the Midlands. Visitors can experience the sights, sounds and wildlife of a traditional raised bog.

Killaun Bog Walk
Situated located 5km east of Birr along the (R440) Kinnitty Road. The site forms part of a wider network of outdoor attractions in the area, including Birr Castle Demesne, the Camcor River Walk and the Slieve Bloom Mountains.
