About
Walking in Lough Boora Discovery Park offers one of the most accessible and rewarding outdoor experiences in County Offaly. Set across restored peatland, lakes and wetlands, the park features over 50 km of off-road walking and cycling trails suitable for all ages and abilities. The long-distance walking route, The Offaly Way, also passes through the parklands.

Level walking terrain so suitable for all ages
- Sculpture Park Route (3.3 km) – a relaxed loop featuring large-scale outdoor artworks and lakeside scenery
- Mesolithic Route (approx. 9 km) – explores wetlands and passes one of Ireland’s most significant prehistoric settlement sites
- The Finnamore Lakes and Turraun Routes also provide wonderful scenery along the way.
