About

Moneygall is a lovely heritage village in south County Offaly, internationally recognised for its ancestral links to Barack Obama and its strong outdoor recreation offering. The village is home to the scenic Rock of Loyer Walking Loop, a countryside trail beginning at Moneygall Activity Park and travelling through hills and farmland overlooking the village. Along the route, walkers enjoy panoramic views towards the Slieve Bloom Mountains, Slieve Aughty Mountains, Arra Mountains and the River Shannon corridor. The trail also links with the community walking track at Moneygall FC grounds. Visitors can also enjoy the nearby Activity Park, which includes playground areas, exercise equipment and family-friendly recreational facilities.
