September Events In Tullamore

Tullamore is set to deliver an unforgettable September packed with exciting events, vibrant entertainment, and unique experiences, offering something for visitors of all ages and interests. Visit Tullamore to experience Europe’s largest organised supercar road trip, Cannonball Run, and stay for family-friendly attractions including Comic Con, the National Ploughing Championships and arts and culture activities. The town is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors throughout the month – will you be one of them?

The festivities begin on Friday, 11th September, when the spectacular Cannonball Run roars into Tullamore. The arrival of the country’s most exciting supercar event will bring colour, energy, and excitement to the town centre. But arrive early and enjoy the free entertainment which will start in O’Connor Square from 3pm, with face painting, hair braiding and Tullamore’s first ever Busking competition with a prize fund, sponsored by Tullamore Credit Union, of €250 for first placed under 16 and over 16 individual / group busker. Following the Cannonball run, expected to pass through town centre at 6pm, the celebrations will continue with free live music in many of the local pubs, creating the perfect atmosphere for visitors and locals alike.

Following your Saturday Tullamore Park Run, along the Grand Canal Greenway, this year’s Offaly Libraries Comic Con beams into Tullamore Library on 12th September between 10am and 4pm where an action-packed day is planned. Now in its seventh iteration, this fun and free family friendly event has become a staple of our library calendar since the first one materialized in 2019.

Comics and graphic novels, sci-fi and fantasy, movies, novels, magic, creativity, imagination and fun will be the order of the day as viewers and readers, artists, cosplayers, and gamers come out in force to enjoy a spectacle of pop culture.
