When you think of Offaly, watersports is probably not the first image that springs to mind. Although landlocked there are an abundance of water related activities within the county that are suitable for both young and old.
Banagher outdoor pool is one of Ireland’s most unusal pools. It is located in the River Shannon, with Offaly on one side and Galway on the other.
The pool is free to use and is perfect for an early morning swim. The water is clean and blue and yoy’ll be able to dry off with a picnic on the riverside afterwards.
